On most benchtop lathes the tailstock is adjustable. On some mini lathes the headstock is rotatable. These features are used to cut taper which is great, but this can cause alignment problems. Buddy bars are for alignment purposes only. Don’t use an alignment bar to mount a huge lathe chuck or something on a mini tailstock. That is NOT safe. Don’t do it.		We cut machine taper on a CNC lathe. If the size is not too large we can also make unusual pieces (e.g. Jacobs taper to Jarno taper, etc.).
